Maria De Los Angeles
Mi Healdsburg - My Healdsburg

Through Nov 15, 2024
Hotel Facade | Floors 2, 3, 4

An allegorical mural celebrating Healdsburg as a place of belonging, abundance, and nurture. The center image is a figure holding a basket of local fruits and flowers, each a symbol of our community’s rich agricultural history, community contributions, and natural beauty. The composition features roses, the artist's signature symbol, and flowers such as the California poppy. The overall mood is comfort and tranquility – an energy emphasized by the golden yellow and reflective of the community both within the Harmon Guest House and Healdsburg. The mural has two ideal viewing points, the first at the entrance of the building allowing the viewer to take in the full form, and on the staircase, in which the mural frames the view of Fitch Mountain and the sky.
In addition to the exterior mural a community exhibition from painting workshops led by de Los Angeles is available to view throughout Harmon Guest House. Additional vinyl imagery inspired by the workshops has been added to the base of the exterior piece.
The project was supported by the City of Healdsburg's Public Art Grant, Circe Sher and the Harmon Guest House, Healdsburg Museum and Historical Society, Holly Hoods, Bacchus Landing, and Aaction Rentals. Installation by Healdsburg Signs.
